Just have a question reguarding sundays and married couples.

As the man and woman are married and have become one flesh, when sundays come around is it ok for only say the man to attend mass and his wife not. or vice versa

Sure. And it’s also OK if the man goes to confession and tells the priest all about his wife’s sins so that she doesn’t have to go. And that if she abstains on Ash Wednesday he doesn’t have to. And vice versa.

I’m being sarcastic.

Of course it’s not OK - they may be one flesh but are two individual souls and consciences. Neither become one bit less responsible to God for their own soul, on the contrary they merely add a certain level of responsibility for the souls of their spouses and children on top of that.

So, yes, both spouses have to attend Mass, each has to go to confession for his or her own sins, each has to obey all the precepts of the Church (like the requirements for fasting and abstinence) and so on. Each also has to try to get their spouse and children to fulfil all their requirements as well.

No

Marriage doesn’t make you less of an individual. if your spouse eats and you don’t, do you feel full? If your spouse showers, do you become clean? Of course not. You don’t cease being yourself and you are still solely responsible for your thoughts and actions. In marriage, one spouse’s body belongs to the other, but you still walk, talk, eat, go to Mass, etc. for yourself. The sexuality of each spouse belongs to the other exclusively, and is freely given to each other fully as a sign of the unity they pledged before God in marriage. That’s what being one flesh refers to.
