Marriage Annulment problem

Hi!

I was born, baptized, and raised Catholic.

I brought my girlfriend at the time and we got married by a baptist minister

5 years later in September or November of 2009, we got divorced.

Then in 2012 I got re-married by a pentecostal minister.

But now we both wish to become catholic.

You are already Catholic. If you had a Catholic baptism, then you are Catholic in the eyes of the Church no matter what your actions were afterwards.

Church law states that a Catholic has to be married by a priest and have two witnesses in order for the marriage to be valid. Therefore both your marriages would be invalid.

Under church law you are not married to your current spouse, you are living together. It’s unlikely any priest would let her join the church, or allow you to take the sacraments, without rectifying this situation.

In any case, you still have to petition the Tribunal to have them look at both of your marriages and give you an official ruling. And if your wife was married before the tribunal would also have to rule on those marriages too.

Go talk to the tribunal, it is the only way to straighten this out.
