My neighbor asked me advice on what to wear, her and her husband have been married 3 years and they both converted to Catholicism. Their priest said they are to have the small ceremony and mass to make their marriage Catholic. They weren’t expecting a ceremony and she asked me if she needs to wear a gown or off white or business casual. She wasn’t sure if she would wear white. I didn’t know what to tell her, I told her just dress nice - perhaps not go all out on a wedding dress. And that off white might be more appropriate. What are your suggestions? Perhaps I can pass it along to her. Thanks.

I’ve seen everything from “wedding style” to jeans and nicer shirts. Whatever the couple is comfortable with.

My wife and I had our Marriage blessed in the church two years ago between Christmas and New Years. She had on a nice off white dress and I had a navy blue suit on. We invited our son and daughter in law and my sister in law. Our Deacon performed the ceremony and we took some pictures followed by a nice dinner.
Very beautiful and memorable! Enjoy!

Anything appropriate for Mass and the special character of the occasion would be fine. This is NOT a wedding, if you’re info is correct (they were married then both became Catholic). This should just be a nuptial blessing. Their marriage (seems from your post) is already valid and sacramental.

There’s something amiss with this part… If they both converted after marriage, they don’t need to do anything.

I think it’s best to remember to cover up. This is a holy occasion. Apparel in good taste, away from the Hollywood 'what’s in vogue" recommendations. Bosoms and legs are low priority. Just wear something simple and loose. One can be in the latest style but with less exposure. Excess jewelry should be avoided also.

They were protestant of some sort. I’ll find out more…sorry my info is limited
