It is as large or small as you want it to be.When you have your marriage convalidated how big a ceremony is it ?? That is , is it a small, private ceremony or is it carried out in view of all ??
Yes, in fact, that’s the minimum necessary for a wedding: bride, groom, priest, two witnesses. It would feel a bit odd having a large ceremony And we did only have our children present when we married in register office (second marriage for my husband) so I wondered if we could just have two witnesses (I assume we still need them ) and our priest?
Note the OP mentioned this is the second marriage for her husband. So, convalidation would be necessary after a decree of nullity.Your religion says Protestant up by your name. Is your spouse Catholic? If not, you probably wouldn’t even need to have a convalidation. We only had to because my husband and I were both baptized Catholic but were married in a Methodist church without a dispensation. If you’re not Catholic yet, then the Catholic rules for marriage wouldn’t apply.
