Sacramental marriage has grace that a natural marriage does not. Prayers for you!
Don’t I know it lol. Trust me, after 17 years of being married and non-Christian, and all the bad stuff we’ve gone through and put each other through, I can definitely see the lack of grace there. But, thank God, we’ve finally allowed Him to open our eyes.

Just as an FYI, I do already plan to call tomorrow to try to make an appointment with the Priest and discuss this with him.
That’s the best way to handle it. At any rate, it will be worked out. Simply being married to a non-Christian is not an impediment to full communion with the Church, per se. Even a Catholic may marry a non-Catholic and still continue to receive Holy Communion, if permission was granted for the marriage.

I ran across this when marrying my husband. He was baptized in a non-denominational Christian church 30 years or so earlier. Nevertheless, they still had the records and were able to send a letter attesting to his baptism. There can only be so many Baptist churches in Norwalk, CA, and a few of those might not even have existed when your wife was baptized…that’s the worst case, if she can’t look at the list of names and recognize the name of her home church. Unless there was a fire or something weird like that, they will undoubtedly have records, too. The Baptists do follow the letter of the Holy Scriptures, in order to get 'em good and baptized. I would think correct form will be easily assumed.

So I called and left a message for my Priest today, told him what was going on and that I wished to make an appointment to discuss it. He called me back later this afternoon and told me that everything was, in fact, ok. He basically said the same thing that all of you have. So, I’m good to go for Easter. Yay! Thanks everyone for the replies 🙂

He also said that as far as my wife’s baptism, when she goes through RCIA, if she remembers being baptized, then that was good enough. He said he wouldn’t need the certificate. Of course we’ll still try to get it anyway, but he said that the church pretty much recognizes baptism as valid from most Christian denominations except for mormon’s and jw’s.
