Aha! That makes sense then. I know my director stopped him on his way to a meeting and he was a bit “hurried” so perhaps he said “blessing” and meant “radical sanation”.
I spoke to him again today, but he didn’t mention exactly what it was called. We are going on Saturday, August 21st.
We would go this Saturday, but our niece and nephew are here and we are planning on taking them to the springs.

I’m really glad your priest is working with you to get this straightened out -quickly. I promise you I’m not try to cause you any more issues -just wanted to let you know I wasn’t confirmed either when I got married legally at the age of 18 -and my husband wasn’t even baptized yet. And the term “blessing” is often used as kind of a “lay” term for convalidation. But since he said it was not a convalidation I would ask your priest what is the canonical term for what he is doing, because like a previous poster said there is no such thing as a marriage blessing requirement.

Did he have you fill in any paper work for the diocese and get recent copies of your baptism certificates like Vico mentioned in his post about radical sanation?

I’m not trying to nit pick, just want to make sure they are doing things correctly for you so as not to cause more stress later. My husband went through RCIA to convert was baptized (received communion and confirmation) without the parish even addressing our marriage issue -and I was confirmed without our marriage issue being addressed. It wasn’t until we changed parishes that we had a priest who explained it properly to us.
