“I want you to be free from anxieties. The unmarried man is anxious about the things of the Lord, how to please the Lord. But the married man is anxious about worldly things, how to please his wife,” 1 Corinthians 7:32-33

Your passages certainly show that clergy were certainly allowed to marry. And they still are, in the Eastern Catholic churches. It is a discipline governed by the Church. It can be taken away and the Church will still be the same Church. Of course, I definitely think that this requirement should NEVER be taken away from the Latin Rite.

The answer is more vocations to the priesthood, simple enough right, now get to work praying for it 😉
