How can you tell if your marriage is legal inside the church?
Really simple, contact your parish where you were Baptized, if the Marriage is recorded on your Sacramental record, it was at least assumed to be valid by the Church. If it is not recorded you can assume that it is not reconized by the Church. How can you tell if your marriage is legal inside the church?
I can think of one occasion when that might not be so. A Catholic with a dispensation to marry in a Protestant Church is responsible for notifying his parish once the marriage has been celebrated. Then his parish would notify his baptismal parish if they aren’t one and the same. If he doesn’t, it’s may not be recorded but his marriage would still be valid.Really simple, contact your parish where you were Baptized, if the Marriage is recorded on your Sacramental record, it was at least assumed to be valid by the Church. I didn’t say it wasn’t valid. I said it wasn’t recognized by the Church.I can think of one occasion when that might not be so. I would say to explain it to your Priest and see what he has to say. That will help you out more and give you even more peace of mind than anything anybody could tell you on here. I love it on here but its no replacement for speaking with the FatherHow can you tell if your marriage is legal inside the church?
