Marriage Prayers

Please pray for my troubled marriage. After almost 5 years and many problems, blessings, two beautiful children, I find myself among many major disagreements with my husband. Our latest (tonight) was over the fact that he thinks that when he is away for work that viewing pornography, pleasuring himself, etc is totally acceptable and perfectly normal behavior. I am a recent re-vert to the faith and he blames all of our issues on this. I had a disturbing discovery this afternoon that started the conversation. The fact that it is hurtful and degrading to me is of no concern to him as it is my problem not his. I can’t really say that this is a shock to me since we have had issues a year ago with him talking secretly to another woman who he went to school with and he was in denial of doing anything wrong. I am exhausted trying to verbalize with him and I just am clinging to prayer that he will have a change of heart. Please pray for us and my prayers go out to all those in troubled marriages.
Lord, give me the grace to carry my cross cheerfully!

It sounds like what he needs is a change of heart. I am praying that his eyes are opened to how wonderful commiting his heart to his marriage can be. It sounds like something in him is very detached and broken away from God.
I don’t know what to tell you for solid advice… other than to insist he go to speak with a marriage counselor or priest. IF you can get him to read some literature there is some great stuff out there by Christopher West and the Popcaks. In our state, we are having a men’s conference soon… maybe you can inquire if something like this is going on in your area any time soon.

Thank you so much for all of the prayers and advice! Retrovaille would be a perfect fit except the fact that both people need to be willing to go. According to him, there are no problems, everything is fine, I have the issues. So, that is out. Really me talking to him doesn’t do much except to explain how I feel about his actions. He won’t read, won’t seek advice/counsel. So, I really appreciate all of your prayers! You are in mine as well!
