Marriage Prep Priest Being Moved

My fiancee and I have been doing marriage prep with one of our parish priests. I just found out he is being moved to another parish. I don’t know what the appropriate course of action is. Of course we are both going to thank him, but I don’t know if there is anything else we should do? He’s done probably about half the prep work.
 
Both of the priests I know that moved this past year in our diocese continued to work with their couples (they were about 2 hours away from their old parish). your priest may continue to work with you as well–since it may be difficult to switch half way through? I would just suggest talking with him to figure out what he thinks would be best…

But, if you do part ways, a thank you is nice. And, pray for your priest (that’s the best thing you could ever give him!). I can only guess that moving parishes is something extremely difficult for priests as everything is so different.

I know he won’t be finishing the prep with us because he asked specifically if he could transfer our paperwork to the other priest. I got the impression that he was being moved a pretty significant distance since he said he probably wouldn’t be able to even attend the wedding.
