Does the mere act of sex constitute marriage in Gods eyes? I read verses about how two become one flesh during intercourse and became confused on this issue. Does that mean just by having sex without intent to marry you are becoming married and one flesh in Gods eyes? Thank you.

A marriage is consummated by the marital act, but that alone is not sufficient to accomplish a valid marriage. So no, if the other elements of a valid marriage are not present, there is no marriage. If that were not true, fornication would be impossible (or at least nearly so), wouldn’t it? Couples who consummated their relationship would either be adulterers or they would be married.

In short, no.

It could easily be interpreted in the way you mentioned if one just reads various sections of the Bible (NT and OT) as stand alone sentences and verses out of context.
