I am struggling with my Divorce. The contract is broken legally but the union still holds in the church. we were separated for four years before we finalized the divorce. I held off with hopes of reconciling. Although we are now officially divorced I am always thinking of him and missing him. At times I feel his presents and when I turn he is usually right there, with his “female friend”. I to am trying to move on with a new relationship but everyday I wake up missing him and my marriage, although it was not a very happy marriage. We both recently told eachother that we still loved eachother. I just dont know what to do. I feel very bad that I have brought in a very nice inoccent man into this and am afraid of hurting him to. I go to daily mass as often as I can and have recently started visiting the holy sacrament to pray and ask God for guidence but I am getting mixed messages. I sometimes think I am hearing just what I want then I start thinking of all the negatives of the marriage. Ugh!!! Please give me some advise:confused::confused:

I am very sorry to hear of your divorce. Divorce is very devastating to all involved, and I am sure it is very difficult since you did not want the divorce.

You mention a new relationship. You are not free to date right now, and you are right you could be bringing an innocent person into a problematic situation.

I suggest you sit down with your pastor and discuss whether or not you have a case for a decree of nullity. If your marriage was valid, then you are not free to marry again and should not encourage a relationship with someone. Until you have gon through the process, you cannot know what the outcome will be. Only after (if) you are declared free to marry should you take up a romantic relationship.

Please go talk to your pastor.
