Hi all,

I asked the apologist about this, but I wanted to see if anyone else is familiar with this situation. I have not been to mass in 5 years. During that time, I have married a wonderful mormon girl and am very happy. Of course, we didn’t do anything to get our marriage recognized by the RCC. What are my options if I want to come back to mass? I know she will not agree to raise our potential children Catholic, and I am very happy in the marriage, so I have no interest in divorce. Do I have any other options? I’ve been reading about this online, and I’m feeling discouraged. Anyone dealt with this before? Thanks,

Bingo. We can only truly suggest this. Everything else would be speculation.

As mentioned by others, talking with a priest is your best place to begin.

The Church never asks anyone to divorce their spouse.

I think it is wonderful you want to come back to the Mass! The truth always pulls us back, doesn’t it?
Definitely talk to a good priest about your situation. And as for your wife not ever agreeing to raise the children Catholic, well, you just never know 👍
