My husband and me are going through RCIA as candidates and have been married for 25 years. We were baptized in 1993 but will not be confirmed until Easter. We were married in the Chapel of love - seriously not a church setting and would both like to renew our vows in the church. Will our marriage be considered invalid as soon as we are confirmed? Do we need to be married asap to avoid mortal sin?
Second question is I asked a question and then the answer was posted but I also received a private message from the person who answered the question. The message was deleted by my computer as a pop up. Was this message simply an automatic thing when your question is answered?
Thank you

Hi,

The Catholic Church recognizes the validity of non-Catholic marriages. So it recognizes your marriage as valid. If you received a private message from here, it was not automatic. Sometimes apologists will notify the individual that his or her message has been answered on the forum. I don’t.
