What is the discipline imposed on married Latin Rite clergy about abstaining from marital relations before offering or assisting at Mass?
Yes. I am not sure who explained this to you in this way, but it is not accurate to say the Church bases its discipline of priestly celibacy on Levite laws or practices. It has nothing to do with temple service. No. Correct. Not a valid analogy. It is not used to explain celibacy as the norm in the Latin Rite. I am not sure where you got this idea.
Reliable poster “me” should not have spoken for the Eastern Rite churches, as I am not positive that is accurate. Latin Rite- no discipline that I know of.reliable poster 1ke

Twice a day for 15 years means you’ve been right about 11,000 times.I’ve been here since 2004. Even a broken watch is right twice a day.
