Married outside the Catholic Church. What can I do to receive communion?

My husband is a Born Again Christian and I was a non practicing Catholic when we got married in the Methodist Church in 2012. In 2015 i wanted to go back to the Catholic Church. But what can I do to receive communion? My husband is not willing to come with me to talk to the priest. I feel depressed because we both have two kids under two years of age and they’re not yet baptised. Am I in the state of mortal sin because my children are not yet baptised? My husband agreed that we will raise our Children Catholic. Please help me and sorry for my bad English 🙏

The first thing is to sort out your marriage. Talk to your priest. If your husband is unwilling to convalidate you may be able to get a radical sanction.

Is your husband willing to let your children be baptized?
 
Make an appointment with your pastor.

Tell him you want to make your marriage valid in the Church and you want to baptize your kids.

Convalidation can either be through new exchange of vows or through what is called radical sanation if your husband won’t speak new vows.

Talk to your pastor, he will help you. This can be resolved.
 
Yes my husband will let me baptise the kids in the Church but he doesn’t want to help. I don’t think he wants to attend the baptism either. Is this okay? I will have to pray for his conversion. He is a “I Iove Jesus but hate religion” brand of Christianity.
 
Thank you I did talk to my pastor he said I needed my husband. my husband didn’t want to come with me though. But I will pray for my husband. He used to be very aunti Catholic but not anymore. He even asked me to pray to St. Joseph for his intentions.
 
Maybe your pastor would accept a written statement from him saying he’s OK with having the children baptized.

Great that he seems to be coming around.
