I do not get the connection. It is kind of backwards, if anything, because wine skins become less accommodating with age, rather than more. That is why new wines cannot be put into old skins, lest both be lost. Whatever helps her, though.
Marriage does call for the two people to grow in their ability to compromise, though. I’m not fond of the analogy she used to get there myself, but the basic idea is sound. (The idea of pouring a glass of wine in order to think more clearly wouldn’t be something I’d put into my arsenal. The more upset and irrational you are, the less you need to be reaching for a glass of something alcoholic!)
