Hello,

I would like to know which rites allow married priest in the United States. Thanks for any help.

Thanks,:crossrc:

Most do. Some are not as acceptive or have not rushed to ordain a great number of married men.

In terms of numbers of married men actually ordained to the priesthood in the US, the majority have been ordained through the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (all of the Eparchies and the Archeparchy have ordained married men), followed by the Melkites and then the Romanians.

In my Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy (diocese) about half of the parochial presbyteral clergy are married.

The Ruthenian Metropolia of Pittsburgh has a few married priests; I don’t recall which eparchies.

The proper term is “Eastern sui juris Churches”.
