**Did she consent for that?
I don’t think so.

**** W * R * O * N * G * !!!***

Read Luke 1 in the Bible.

This gives the accurate account of the Annunciation, not the garbled version in the Koran.

I confess there is NO GOD but Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and Jesus is God Incarnate!

Let’s assume you have children.

Did you discuss with them what language woudl be their mother tongue? So you didn’t speak with them in English (I’m assuming its your language) until they decide they wanted to speak it?

Did you feed them what was good for them, or did you wait until they could pick nutricious food (or watched them starve)?

Did you not send them to school, until they decided they wanted to go (mine I told, when they said they didn’t want to go, "you’re answering a question that wasn’t asked. Get your shoes on)?

Citizenshop is a heavy responsibility. Did you communicate in utero with your child as to which country he wanted to be a citizen of, so you could move there so he could be born there?

Honor Thy Father and Thy Mother. Did you consult your child in your choice of spouse, if they wanted them as a mother/father? (oops, question only appicable to mormons).

You of course ran a Christ free household. After all, wouldn’t be fair to expose that child to all that Christian propoganda, right and wrong and all that moral stuff. Not viable candidates for obedience to Christian morality. Teaching them morals when they can’t choose is wrong, makes them responsible.

And of course, you have refused any and all medical treatment, not giving consent on their behalf. Including treatment during childbirth.

You did ask them before you begot/conceived them, no?
Well said Isa! :clapping:

I was referring to the marriage of Joseph and Mary.

I do believe you do not have the correct understanding of the relation of God and Mary.

Perhaps we should begin by you citing where the Church teaches as you claim
Hi

I am an Ahmadi a peaceful Muslim. Quran/Islam/Muhammad maintain that GodAllahYHWH is no physical being, so there is no question of any physical relationship between God and Mary, and hence no physical substance passed from the body of God, (as there is no physical body of God), to the body of Mary. Hence there is/was no relationship of husband and wife in any form between GodAllahYHWH and Mary; we may therefore conclude that there is no concept of any marriage between God and Mary as per Quran/Islam/Muhammad.

This is my understanding.
I respect your religion.

Thanks

God did not need a physical body- there was not the result of a procreative act. Jesus was created in the form of a human fetus inside of Mary. Mary gave her absolute consent to this.

Hi

As I udnerstand “The fetal stage begins eight weeks after fertilization.” That is a later stage, first to start with the conceiving of the child.

Did any physical substance from the physical body of God ( I don’t believe God has in any way a physical form, this is only to understand as to how the Catholic visualize) entered into the physical body of Mary?

I don’t think so.

Did any physical part from the physical body of God ( I don’t believe God has in any way a physical part, this is only to understand as to how the Catholic visualize) entered into the physical body of Mary?

I don’t think so.

Anybody any thoughts

Thanks

My dear Paarsurrey! Pax tecum!

God is infinite. God is EVERYWHERE, He is omnipotent. I’m sure that if God wanted something done, it was done.

After all, He did nothing more than say “Let there be light” and there was light.

To gain understanding of the Christian idea of the power of God, read, if you will, the first chapter of the Book of Genesis.

God created the universe, could he not, then, create one single child in a woman’s womb without any physical contact? The angel said to Mary, “The Holy Ghost will come upon you and overshadow you.” What does this mean if God’s power is infinite?

Hi

Yes, GodAllahYHWH said “Let there be light” and there was light. Then light is not a pysical son or daughter of GodAllahYHWH. Your wan to say in other words that this all is only metaphorical.

Have I understood you correctly?

I think I have.

Thanks

That is a false conclusion. It is not metaphorical. Jesus is not “a son” Nor is He a creature. He is THE Son eternally, and God does not need to beget in a way that humans do or in any other physical way to make it happen.

Your statement indicates you believe we think Jesus was a separate God apart from God, but we do not believe this.

Hi

My friend that is what is called metaphorical, which cannot be physical or which is not possible physically, is called metaphorical, meaning thereby loved-one of GodAllahYHWH.

Quran
[112:1] In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.
[112:2] Say 'He is Allah, the One!
[112:3] Allah the Independent and Besought of all.
[112:4] 'He begets not, nor, is He begotten,
[112:5] And there is none like unto Him.

However we believe Jesus is God’s only begotten son.

Please address the entire point of what we believe and not the parts convenient to you

metaphor
■ n. a figure of speech in which a word or phrase is applied to something to which it is not literally applicable.
† a thing regarded as symbolic of something else.
– derivatives metaphoric adj. metaphorical adj. metaphorically adv.
– origin C15: from Fr. métaphore, via L. from Gk metaphora, from metapherein ‘to transfer’.

Soanes, C., & Stevenson, A. (2004). Concise Oxford English dictionary (11th ed.). Oxford: Oxford University Press.

No, Christ is not metaphorically God’s son in the sense of metaphorical.

No. The quote is trying to say that if God can create the entire universe out of nothing, then he can certainly cause a Virgin to give birth without a man (or God) having sexual relations with her.

But this is very much off topic. The original topic of this thread was about infant baptism, not the Virgin’s ability to consent to the Incarnation, or the differences between Islam and Christianity’s understanding of the birth of Jesus. If we wish to continue this conversation, we should start another thread specifically devoted to that subject.

Hi

Kindly start the thread, you have perceived, for everybody’s (name removed by moderator)ut.

For a marriage to be sacramental both parties have to be willing and have consent. Such a marriage would be annuled in an instant. Baptism requires a promise on both parents parts to raise the child in the Faith. totally different.

Hi

I understand that some Christians believe that Mary was literally and physically married to ChristianGod. She did not disobey nor she could when she was informed by an angel that she was going to conceive a child without being touched by a human being.

Mary was an obedient servant of God, if as some Christians believe was married literally and physically to ChristianGod, she
never did a misconduct, the why should she get married later to Joseph. Was she divorced by the ChristianGod ? Why he divorced her? Was this marriage with Joseph a mariage of a maried woman for a divorced woman?

I don’t believe that.

I only want to know the pheneomenon, no disrepct in intended to anyone here.

Thanks

No Christian that I know of has ever believed Mary was literally married to God. She was married to Joseph. It’s there in the New Testament.
Is it the concept of the Triune God you don’t understand?

Apologies to the OP for continuing this digression.

Hi

Maybe you are not that Catholic, so this is not your belief, you think it is symbolic. Kindly see following posts, it implies they believe it physically and literally.
