A lot of things seem to you to be true which are not necessarily so.

I have no doubt that you and Dr. Hahn are on the same page in your desire to defend the Catholic Faith. But Dr. Hahn is (as I’m sure you’d agree) significantly more mature and well-informed in the way he does so. (I don’t always like his methods or his style or agree with his conclusions, but he’s a smart guy and he’s done the Church a great service by stating Catholic ideas in a lively and accessible manner informed by what is positive in Protestant thought.)

You mean well, but you don’t seem to think very clearly. You need to work on that.

And I’m not very impressed by the whole “I only use Catholic sources–oh, I used one anti-Catholic source but then forgot about it, but it’s not a big deal” argument. It sounds exactly like what my students say when I catch them plagiarizing off the Internet. (Not, of course, that I think you should only use Catholic sources. But I think you should be thoughtful and critical about all the sources you use, particularly Internet sources, and particularly sources with a polemical axe to grind, whatever their bias.)

You know Contarini, I don’t need your put downs, nor your phylisophical BS. This is the difference between you and Hahn, at least he is more charitable and I know it comes from his CATHOLIC FAITH. Maybe you to should look into it and be more charitable instead of trying to make yourself look good by putting others down. Like I said, maybe a degree but no common sense.

None of this has anything to do with common sense. I’m not even sure that it has anything to do with charity. And I am certainly under no illusions that I am making myself look good. However, I do tend to pound people into the ground argumentatively, and it certainly isn’t good for my soul (and probably not for yours either, which is where the charity would come in–I’m likely to get your back up instead of convincing you to look at your own faults). I apologize for this.
