Martyrdom and mortal sin?

If you are killed as a martyr and have grave sin on your soul at the time of death, do you still go to heaven? And who makes the call that the death is martyrdom? Thanks and God Bless,

To truly be a martyr someone must willingly die out of love for Christ. The person can’t simply be murdered because the attacker(s) thinks he’s a Christian, it must be a loving acceptance of dying for Christ.
It is impossible to think that in such a situation such a person who loved Christ to the point of suffering and death would not have perfect contrition for his sins. Perfect contrition for sins can obtain forgiveness for mortal sins (CCC #1452).
