The Blessed Virgin revealed to Saint Catherine Laboure in 1830 that difficult times were coming upon the earth. She wanted her to have a medal struck which would be a weapon for the people of the world during these terrible times. So powerful were the graces received from simple devotion to the Miraculous Medal that the tide of apostacy and persecution in France at that time was turned. The Church was preserved.

It would be wonderful to hear of any modern day miracles received through devotion to the Miraculous Medal. I’ve only recently taken an interest, I’m thinking about getting each of my children one at a special time in their lives this year. Any miracles or Marian “assistance” through this devotion?

I have always worn this medal. Last year one of the mom’s at school said she had enough for every student so I took them home the weekend before June hit so we could still give them to the students for May Mary’s month. I put everyone on a ribbon I needed 400 and was short like 50. I looked all over on Saturday for the same medal and of course no one had 50 Miraculous medals. So I went to school resigned that the older girls would not get a medal. When I got to school and Father came to bless them I told him I was short so we could not give them out at morning assembly. He went back to his room and came back with about 60 medals. Everyone received one. Something small but after reading to the students what everything on the medal means I myself was educated on this one.🙂

I used to carry one around at high school. I’m far from being a brilliant student, so I may as well credit it with my successfully getting into law school.

A year or so ago I got as a gift from my mum a metal keyring that has impressions of a couple of saints medals - I just took another look at it and it also has the miraculous medal.

Does anyone know any specific prayers relating to the medal so that I can start saying them?

Cheers 👍

Below is the website of the Association of the Miraculous Medal. I am a wearer of the medal and pray the third and fourth prayers every day.

A miracle story? My brother who was a teenager at the time was visiting with a friend and survived a fall from the balcony of a fifth story building. He fractured his leg, crushed a few back molars in his mouth and one lumbar vertebrae in his back; however, he can walk. At the time he was wearing a miraculous medal around his neck. Another friend of his was not so lucky. Shallow diving into waves at the beach he broke his neck in only a few feet of water. Today he is paralyzed and in a wheelchair. When I see my brother with his wife and four children I often remember the miraculous intercession of Our Blessed Mother and how blessed he is; the outcome could have been so different. My mother always said the angels turned him around so he landed on his feet.

Yup. And I didn’t even KNOW it until nearly a year later.

When I was coming into the Church as a Convert, I needed a certain situation in my life to be completely healed for me to become Catholic. I had been attending Saturday morning Mass in my parish, and participated (albeit grudgingly) in the Miraculous Medal novena afterward, although I would not pray the consecration prayer to Our Lady . . . At that devotion, we venerate a first-class relic of St. Catherine Laboure.

The situation that needed resolution (no, not an annulment) was cleared up, and I came into the Church the following Easter.

Then, looking back and checking a calendar, I realized that the barrier to my conversion had ended immediately following the 9th consecutive week of my attendance at the MM novena.

I have promised Our Lady that I will wear her Miraculous Medal for the rest of my life.
