Mary at Lourdes

I’ve been to Lourdes and read about St Bernadette, but I had to go to the book and read if she ever mentioned the color of Mary’s eyes.

I could be wrong and open to correction if St Bernadette did state the color of the Blessed Mother’s eyes, in her visions.

It’s also entirely possible that Mary appeared to a saint differently than she actually appeared in her mortal life.
 
I really liked the Mary portrayed in The Passion of the Christ. Very Jewish looking. No doubt Mary looked like that. I too am turned off a bit by the uber blonde, blue eyes, tall and willowy Marys. But that the was the norm before racial diversity began to show people of different races and cultures as beautiful in their own right.
However, Mary appears differently to different people in her appearances. Think of Our Lady of Guadelupe, Our Lady of Akita, Our Lady of Pontmain. etc.
 
Can one really rely on any of their senses when encountering a supernatural being from another realm of existence? I feel like the mind is going to fill in details the way it needs to, whatever feels familiar, otherwise the encounter would probably be indescribable and incomprehensible. Kind of how like the Eucharist tastes and feels just like a wafer of bread even though it’s not.

Well, we have images from Mary, like Our Lady of Guadalupe and the miraculous medal that are given and not imagined, so we can say that it’s not all in the imagination.
 
In the apparitions I refer to Mary was living and moving and the baby was living and moving also.
 
I wonder though if moving is the evidence of living and if moving could be a memory too? Since they couldn’t feel His presence but could Mary’s.

By “living” I simply meant that Mary may well have the capability of appearing not simply with a still memory of Jesus but also a moving “interactive” one.
Either way not Jesus in person.

But who knows.
