Thanks so much, dear Pat.

If you cannot find a Legion of Mary in your local parish or Diocese, I would be happy to enroll you in our Queen of Peace Praesidium and you can try praying the Legion Tessera Prayers (takes about 5 minutes beyond the Rosary) for 3 months. You can space out the prayers; for instance, praying the Prayer to the Holy Spirit and one decade in the Morning, then another decade or two midday with “Catena” (Mary’s Magnificat from Luke’s Gospel) and finish your Rosary with the Legion’s Concluding Prayer in the evening.
Thank you, MariaChristi. I contacted my diocese and there are about ten praesidia in my diocese. One of them is at a Church which I know is very devout. I will continue to pray about it.

Great News! Thanks so much!

I didn’t know that the Legion of Mary is the largest lay apostolate in the world. Such groups need to grow much more, so that souls will be ready for the end of the age. How much we need the Mother of God!

She is so kind and patient!

Yes, dear brother Pat, the Legion of Mary has millions of members all over the world. I do not think it is as well known as other apostolates, but that may be because God prefers a more “hidden” presence in the world so Mary’s Legion be more like Mary our Mother. 🙂

I do pray that it may continue to grow, because as you said, souls need to be ready when Jesus comes again either in our own death or at the end of the world. I heard a very zealous Legion of Mary member who is also an ordained Deacon share that he firmly believes that the Legion of Mary is spoken of (prophetically) by St. Louis de Montfort in his “True Devotion” paragraphs 55 - 59. This Deacon asked his Bishop if he could work especially with the Legion.

Perhaps you noticed on the title page of De Montfort’s book it says:
True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin
Code:
                                or
Code:
                      Preparation
for the Reign of Jesus Christ
I read that the founder of the Legion of Mary, Servant of God Frank Duff, kept a map of the world in his room where he prayed and marked those places where Legionaries were working. Besides Frank Duff two other Legion Members’ “Causes” have been introduced in Rome for Canonization: Venerable Edel Quinn (whom Frank Duff sent to Africa to begin the Legion there) and Servant of God Alphonsus Lamb (whom Frank Duff sent to Latin America to spread the Legion there). Both Edel and Alphonsus are buried in the lands where they worked.

I do pray for the growth of the Legion in holiness and in number of persons to serve Jesus through Mary. Thanks so much for your interest in this beautiful work of God.

Dear sister, Deborah Mary,

Yes, how ready for death we can be, if we are fully consecrated to Jesus through Mary, as St. Louis De Montfort recommends in True Devotion to Mary.

If we love the names of Mary and Jesus, we will love others and be very ready.

It’s beautiful how the Legion serves those in nursing homes and others who are marginalized or in need of help.

Our Lady loves us each, individually, more than all mothers of the world have every loved their children combined.

In an episode of “Monk”, Natalie tells Adrian that he’ll never know what he’s missing by not being able to appreciate the beauty of nature–rainbows, for example.

How much I was missing for years as I often lived so unhappily because I didn’t really know Jesus through Mary.

May the Legion of Mary and all those devoted to Mary continue to pray and spread the devotion to the Mother of God, so that the reign of of Mary and Jesus Christ, our King fully reign in our hearts.

And so that we may all be fully whom we are created to be!

Thanks. dear brother,

For your love of Jesus and Mary, and for your prayers for us who serve them in the Legion of Mary. Visiting the sick in hospitals and nursing homes is a way in which we try to bring the love Jesus and Mary to others. Often people who have been away from the Faith, return simply by the kind invitation of a Legionary asking if the person might like to have a priest come to visit or if they would like to receive Holy Communion.

A whole new life can begin when we seek Jesus through Mary! I know I’d be lost without Mary. Thanks for sharing your joy in finding God’s Love through our Mother too! 🙂

Thanks, dear sister.

As St. Louis says, would that the whole world might know that without Mary, I would already be in hell.

Yes, if we approach Jesus through Mary, we have nothing to fear regarding death or the end times. We need only appeal to Mary, who is–as Pope St. Leo says-- mercy itself.

How much God loves us to give us His own Mother!
