Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Continuing to quote from the book, “Mary – The Church at the Source” p.78:
“All generations will call me blessed”. We call Mary blessed with words woven together from the Angelic salutation and Elizabeth’s greeting – that is with words not of human invention. The Evangelist tells us, in fact, that Elizabeth utterred her greeting filled with the Holy Spirit. “Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb”: These are the words of Elizabeth which we repeat after her.

Blessed are you – God’s promise made to Abraham resounds once more at the beginning of the New Covenant: "You will be a blessing…and by you all the families of the earth shall bless themselves. Mary, who recapitulated the faith of Abraham and brought it to its goal, is now the one blessed.

She has become the Mother of believers, through whom all generations and races of the earth obtain blessing

We place ourselves in this blessing, when we praise her. We enter into it when, together with her, we become believers who magnify God because He dwells among us as “God with us”: Jesus Christ, the true and only Redeemer of the world.
May the Holy Spirit continue to bring us into all Truth as Jesus promised. (Jn 16:13)

Dear Camehome4john6 and TK21,

Thanks so much for your “hearts” and your love for Jesus through Mary which prompts you to indicate to the Forum that you like what Pope Emeritus has written. It is so important for us as Catholics to continue not only our persoanl love for Jesus through Mary, but to also ask for God’s Holy Spirit to increase in us His 7 Gifts: Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Knowledge, Fortitude, Temperance, and Piety which enable us to do the Truth we hear from Him.

Many today seem to be so concerned about “self” rather than God, we find more and more divisions – as St. Augustine pointed out in his classic book “The City of God”: those who love God to the contempt of self are building the city of God, while those who love self to the contempt of God are building the “city of man”. We cannot serve 2 masters. I’m reminded of Pope St. JPII’s words: “Be not afraid. Open wide the doors of your hearts to Christ”

The choice Mary made in her “Yes” to God needs to be our “yes” to God as well. Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful. Kindle in us the Fire of Your Love!

Yes to enter heaven we shall be like children. Then our mother Mary can take us by the hand to Jesus.

She is also the mother of unbelievers.
Many years ago a Muslim friend of mine was telling me of his problems. They related to political intrigue, war and family all combined that negatively effected him. I said I can’t do anything for you but I know who can. I taught him to pray the rosary and i gave him one.
I didn’t see him for a week or so but when I saw him he was very happy. Most of his problems had resolved themselves and he credited his good fortune to having prayed the rosary.

Dear poce,

Thanks for your reply, and I believe that Pope Emeritus’ words ring true for all
" Mary, who recapitulated the faith of Abraham and brought it to its goal, is now the one blessed.

Mary is ever interceding for all and encourages us to do the same. She taught the children at Fatima to pray the Rosary Daily and added the prayer after each decade: “O my Jesus forgive us our sins, draw all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of Your Mercy.” Your Muslim friend may have been pre-disposed toward Mary, for I believe the devout Muslims have great respect for Jesus (but as a Prophet not as the Incarnate Son of God) and also great respect for Miriam (Mary) His Mother.

Thanks for recommending the Rosary to him, and I thank God for giving your friend the peace he sought through Mary! 🙂

Dear Dan_Defender,

Thanks for your reply. Yes, we hear in the Gospel of Matthew, 18: 1-5, these words:
At that time the disciples approached Jesus and said, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” He called a child over, placed it in their midst, and said, “Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever receives one child such as this in my name receives me.
Mary is Mother and Model for us. She listened to all Jesus said and did, pondering all in her heart. She is His most humble Mother and she lived the Truth He preached. Jesus tells us “Learn from Me for I am meek and humble of heart”. Let us learn from Him as Mary did and become His little children and hers as well.

…Holy Mary, Mother of God pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Dear Justin_Mary,

Thanks for your “heart” and your love for Jesus through Mary. Have you begun to read this book yet? Seems to me you wrote on another thread you had ordered a copy. I hope you will be blessed as I have been in reading and in re-reading it! May our Mother bless all of us as we seek to love her Son through her.

Dear patricius and Stephie,

Thank you both for your “faithful hearts” letting us know you liked what was written to honor our dear Mother. May we continue to console her and console Jesus through Mary with our Love, now and always!
