I think I get it now. I’ve heard that Mary is the personification of the church. And if the church is immaculate, without a stain or blemish (Eph 5:27), then it would imply that Mary is immaculate.

Hi Charlie,

The paralllel is often made between Mary, other female biblical figures and the Church, the bride of Christ. They help us appreciate Mary’s greatness in the eyes of God.

However, your reasoning would not pass the logic test. Mary is immaculate because this has been revealed by God and proclaimed by His church.
