I hold to it.

If God is indeed perfect, omnipotent, all knowing, indeed knowing of everything, then He would indeed choose a person of His own creation to come through to in the person of Jesus.

She is a perfect human, and God knew of her before the existence of the human race. God is not stupid. He is the last thing from it. If He has chosen Her to bear His Son, then I trust that everything else comes through Her. Our salvation is owed to Him, and Mary said her “fiat.”

We ought to just trust in God and know His plan. Mary is His messenger, as He chose Her to deliver His second person. Therefore, no one can be saved unless they recognise the Blessed Virgin and accept her role in salvation. She is the new Eve.

I made the de Montfort total consecration this year. Since that is still valid, I don’t see any problem with “mediatrix of all graces.”

If the title refers to the fact that she gave birth to Christ, who is the source of all graces, and that she mediates between Him and us, I don’t see it as problematic. But I would bow to whatever is said ex cathedra about it over my understanding.

I believe there’s only ONE Mediator between God and man so…

No one is saying that Mary usurps Christ’s role in that regard. He is the mediator between God and man. We view Mary as a mediator between us and Christ.

I don’t know if she is mediatrix of “all” grace but she is a mediatrix of Grace.

So Jesus mediates between Himself and…Himself???

I’m always astounded that people believe that Mary is really unimportant in salvation history. I prefer to love her as a Mother, because Christ gave her to us from the Cross (via St. John).

It’s one less thing I want to explain to God on the last day…I don’t want to face Him and tell Him I didn’t think she deserved any love and prayers.

I wish people would be near as concerned about the sins they commit rather than if Christ physical mother is worthy of our devotion. Seems a silly thing to obsess over.

I’m just quoting the Bible, the Bible said Jesus is the only mediator…

Mary requests Christ who in turn mediates towards His Father.

What if you thought about it this way…
Mary to Jesus to God the Father

1 Tim 2:5 there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

We don’t , we Catholics, we don’t orphan Bible passages to prove a point or try to bolster a debate. This is an abuse of Sacred Scripture

Now there’s nothing wrong with appreciating and loving Mary for what she’s done, but to call her a co redemptrix or mediatrix is heretical.
“Co-redemptrix” is controversial and is not the subject of the discussion on this thread, so let’s leave that out. It’s also not the same as “mediatrix”.

The Vatican has clearly stated that Mary is “Mediatrix” in Lumen Gentium. See the link I posted.

Also, Pope Leo XIII in Iucunda Semper Expectatione called her “Mediatrix of Divine Grace”.

I hardly think that the Popes issuing these pronouncements were a bunch of “heretics”.
