After a night that often contains morally objectionable behavior Catholics usually need to attend Mass to fulfill our obligation for the Solemnity of Mary the Mother of God (which I assume was introduced on that date to keep people in check). That being said I know this year things are weird since the 1st of January falls on a Monday. If I live in a majority non-Catholic country (Romania) and have been searching the net for 2h+ but cannot find the answer should I assume that the obligation to attend Mass stands? Odds are 70% in favor of me going anyway regardless of obligation but I just want to know. I appreciate none of you know Romanian (it’s basically Latin with Russian accent) but maybe there’s a general rule or some sort of way to know/find out.
