Mary, Purgatory, and the Rosary?

First off, do we really need the Rosary if we want to reflect on the life of Christ?
Second, how do we know Mary takes care of souls in Purgatory? Wouldn’t it be Jesus?
Bottom line: how can we be sure about the Rosary’s divinity? How do we know Mary is actually interceding for us? Do we even NEED the rosary?

No Catholic is required to pray the Rosary. Innumerable graces have been received by praying it, however, which is why many Catholics have a deep love for Mary, and pray for her intercession.

No. But the rosary is a bible on a chain as we reflect on Jesus’ life as well as praying.

Second, how do we know Mary takes care of souls in Purgatory?
Mary has privately appeared asking prayers for them as well as telling how much they suffer.

Wouldn’t it be Jesus?
He also has appeared to us privately telling us how great his love is for us, especially in his Sacred Heart. I would take this to mean he cares and loves those in purgatory a great deal, more than we could ever imagine. As an example of his extreme love, he told St. Catherine of Siena that he would suffer the cross gladly for each sinner in hell if it would help them.

Bottom line: how can we be sure about the Rosary’s divinity? (You mean Holy or spiritually acceptable?)
Miracles have happened thru using the rosary. Testimonies of many people attest to this thru the centuries.

How do we know Mary is actually interceding for us?
Jesus appointed Mary to be our very own heavenly Mother when He was hanging on the cross. A good mother always has her children on her mind and their welfare. And especially for those who have great trust in her.

Do we even NEED the rosary?
I think we do or Mary wouldn’t have expressed her desire for us to use it everyday.

In regards to the rosary perhaps the question to be asked is how much does the rosary please our Lady? The saints focused on what pleased the Lord and His mother rather than gaining merit for themselves…

St Louis de Montfort said every Hail Mary is like a flower we offer to our Lady which she gladly accepts. A complete rosary is like offering our Lady a crown of roses, hence the name “Rosary” meaning crown of roses.

The Holy Rosary will be and is the chain that binds Lucifer. It is the most effective means of granting relief to the souls in Purgatory and relief from their sufferings.

The Holy Rosary is mystical and miraculous to those that pray it and those who recieve its benefits and favors.

To you my friend, the Holy Rosary can be an effective means to keep Lucifer and his demons at bay or it can be a heavy chain that frightens you.

Don’t question it just do it. Pray the rosary. Fill your mouth with prayer for 25 minutes a day. Show some devotion to God. The rosary is an excellent way to show devotion and if you pray for the rosaries intentions you show your own intentions. Praying the rosary is an act of righteousness. It’s about devotion. Live your faith. Being Catholic is about living your faith. Other Christians are lame in their devotion. Catholicism has developed a multitude of ways to pray. And any real Catholic, and Christian for that matter learns how to use them.

Paul tells us that we will be purged after death I have no idea about who takes care of who but I believe in purgation

I will relate an anecdote I heard today…

A Christian is walking and comes across a hallway…and in the hallway, there are two doors…at the end of the hallway is an angel…the angel opens the first door…and he sees in the middle of the room, a table with a bowl of nutritious food and soup…with ladles longer than one’s arms…the men surrounding the table are malnourished…thin and sickly…they used the ladle to feed themselves but since the handles were very long, the end of the ladles could not reach their mouths…

Then the angel opens the second door…it is exactly the same room…but the men around the table are happy, healthy…no hint of malnourishment…the christian asks the angel why the difference?

The angel answers…the men in the first room only tried to feed themselves…but those in the second room learned how to feed each other…support each other…and were happy and content…the angel showed the communion of saints…

When I learned what the communion of the Saints really meant it changed my life. In the same that it changed my life the first time I walked into a Church (Lutheran) and the priest said, “By the power of Christ and by His command and in His stead I forgive you all your sins,” it changed my life forever.

Realizing that forgiveness and prayer are real were bother watershed moments for me. They changed me and made hunger, for the first time, to have Christ’s Body and Blood in my ny body. I received them for the first time at Easter and I wept openly at the grace of God.

As I have continued to study I feel ever closer to Rome and so RCIA, Lord willing, is where I will be his fall and next Easter will receive the Body and Blood for the first time again.
