I’ve got someone riding me about it no where being in scripture that Mary rode a donkey to Bethlehem. where could i find this?

Question: Why does it matter?
Or rather why does this person “riding” you about it, claim it matters?

Matthew (Chapter 2) simply states that Jesus was born in Bethlehem and they fled to Egypt. Luke (Chapter 2) says they journeyed to Bethlehem. Neither mentions a moce of transportation. I suspect they walked. I think it unlikely they were rich enough to afford a donkey.

Note also in Acts. Nowhere does it state that Paul was riding a horse when he confronted Jesus. Again, I think he was walking.

It is not mentioned in the Scriptures but it is mentioned in the second-century Christian writing, Protoevangelium of James, chapter 17. So, it is a very early Christian tradition.

It is simply assumed that a woman who is with child will ride rather than walk, thus that is how artist have protrayed this text.
