St. Joseph received mystical baptism. He was not born immaculately like our Blessed Mother. Instead he was baptized after conception but before birth.

But what graces do mystical baptism confer - well, I think it made him able to both be loved by God and also able to actually love God. He didn’t like God. He loved God. He loved Jesus with actual love.

Where did you read/learn that St. Joseph received mystical baptism before birth? That’s a new one for me.

I understand this to be Church tradition. I understand John the Baptist received the same grace which is why he lept for joy.

Now what other graces does it bestow perhaps a love that helps quiet against personal sin.
