hi dokimas, dont think this really proves anything. these could have been cousins. or other relatives. guanaphore can answere this better. or it is possible, joseph was married before and had children by another wife, remember he was quite a bit older than Mary.“Jesus answered them and said, "My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me. "If anyone wants to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority.” (Joh 7:16-17 NKJV)
“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.” (Ac 2:42 NKJV)
“which all concern things which perish with the using––according to the commandments and doctrines of men?” (Col 2:22 NKJV)
“If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness,” (1Ti 6:3 NKJV)
“But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance,” (2Ti 3:10 NKJV)
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and** is profitable **for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,” (2Ti 3:16 NKJV)
“Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him;” (2Jo 1:9-10 NKJV)
Notice how important the Scriptures are for doctrine.
Note we are to be careful of doctrines of men.
I do think Jesus would know and did know if He had brothers. He acknowledged the fact in Mark 3.
Mark 3:
Paul seemed to know that James was the brother of Jesus.
31
Mt 13:Then His brothers and His mother came, and standing outside they sent to Him, calling Him.
32 And a multitude was sitting around Him; and they said to Him, “Look, Your mother and Your brothers are outside seeking You.”
33 But He answered them, saying, “Who is My mother, or My brothers?”
34 And He looked around in a circle at those who sat about Him, and said, "Here are My mother and My brothers!
Ga 1:19 But I saw none of the other apostles except James, the Lord‘s brother.
Two of the Gospel writers knew also.
55 "Is this not the carpenter’s son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas?
Mr 6:3 “Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?” And they were offended at Him.

Well this is NOT what I,m talking about I was talking about a diff verse.Which verse is that, Bill?
Thanks, Bill.Well this is NOT what I,m talking about I was talking about a diff verse.
Butt here are 3 you can pray over and may be they will help you’’’
Lk 1:43 - Elizabeth calls her “mother of my Lord” = God
Mt 1:23 - virgin bear a son, Emmanuel = “God is with us”
Lk 1:35 - child born will be called holy, the Son of God
Gal 4:4 - God sent his Son, born of a woman
Okay…I guess that was an indirect response to my post…hm. Yeah, I’ll consider that a response.I was told there is only one queen when I said “Jesus is King of kings and all you of the CC seem to think Mary is queen so is she Queen of queens.” I responded that the person who said Mary was the only queen should tell that to Q E. In context of what was being said, that was my point. My only point.
Blessings,Father Mateo, from Refuting the Attack on Mary:
“There is nothing is Holy Scripture to support two motherhood’s in Mary, one purely physical, the other spiritual. In the real order, these cannot be and never were separated. She is related as a person to person of God the Son. From her flesh she gave Him flesh. Mary was not an incubator. She was and is His Mother.
Martin Luther said, ‘God is born…the child who drinks from His Mother’s milk is eternal; He existed before the world’s beginning and He created Heaven and Earth…these two natures are so united that there is only one God and Lord, that Mary suckles God with her breasts, bathes God, rocks Him, and carries Him.’”
Do you read any of the verse you get from Cathloics.DoKimas I do not think so,do you pray about any of them,do you read about any of the reformer and what they had to say about Mary being the Mother od GodThanks, Bill.
hi dokimas. i can see how you would have a problem with my answere. but im not a theologin. also these ideas come not from me, but have been thought out and studied by people far more qualified than myself. who i believe are under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. do you listen to your pastor? is he not directed by the Holy Spirit? then why would i not listen to learned men who are also led by the Holy Spirit, and have the Bible, and have the traditions handed down to them by the apostles? all one deposit of faith.I’ve seen the CC (through those here who wrote extensively on the matter) view of the word ‘brother’ and ‘sisters’. As I’ve said before, the same Greek word is used for James and John and for Andrew and Peter.
The problem with your explanation is the idea of could have, may have, possibly been …
I’ll take the Bible at face value. When in doubt take it literally and trust the Holy Spirit to show differently. Or wait til we know for sure in Heaven.

I have no further comment on your post, sorry.Okay…I guess that was an indirect response to my post…hm. Yeah, I’ll consider that a response.
Now ~ What say you to the other thing I said? (…about your argument over her being the Mother of God?)
[Emphasis mine]
Blessings,
Therese
That’s a relief.I read most if not all the verses people post directly to me.
It’s not possible for me to accept what I want…I breath in and out Church Teaching - no room for picking and choosing. Actually, I choose to accept *all *the CC teaches, especially on Mary, my Mother. You want me to accept what the reformers say about Mary. Do you want me to accept what they have against the CC? I don’t plan on reading what they think. Thank you for the advise.
I have no further comment
DoKimas How can you read these verse and Tell people that Mary Is Not The Mother of God.
You’ll just have to go through all I’ve written on this subject on CAF to understand my perspective.Dokimas;5910542 said:-

Thank you for your kind comments.Dokimas, friend, you have been very respectful in your attitude towards this thread. I just wanted to thank you for that. You hold Mary in a better regard than a lot of people I know. I even know Catholic’s who have no relationship with her, and do not even hold her in any regard (at least, not that I know of). We are all human, and even though we make mistakes…we can still “knock and the door will be open.”

I know you think it’s me that doesn’t understand, and that may be so. But there’s a good possibility that it is you that doesn’t understand and you can’t even see that. One day we’ll know if what we ‘know’ is truth.I have no further comment , If you do not understand it now you never will.Good luck and God Bless

Of course you may ot have the correct understanding of Matt 16.Well I have the words of my Lord Jesus Christ behind me and He protects Church from error Mt16;18 20;20
