Are there any passages in the Bible I could use to support Mary’s perpetual virginity, immaculate conception, assumption, and role as our spiritual mother? Also, is there anything in the Bible about praying to Mary? I’m sorry, I know it’s a lot to ask, but any information you can give me would be awesome. :bible1:

I have found that the best passage to prove the Marian dogmas is “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14). Of course you have to read this passage with a Catholic mindset and point of view.😉

“…pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.”

“Oh, the humanity.”

The best thing I learnt to help me to understand the importance of Mary in Catholic theology relative to what is contained in Sacred Scripture was to understand her as “our tainted nature’s solitary boast” (William Wordsworth). In other words, she is the perfection we are trying to achieve through grace. As someone so “highly favoured”, she constitutes the perfection of humanity and the nexus mysteriorum interese.

She heard the Word of God so perfectly that she conceived it in her womb and it became flesh…The Fathers explained this by saying that she conceived the Christ child through her ear.
