Being baptized by a priest into the catholic church after seeing a vision of “Mary” is hardly a conversion to Christ.
AMEN.
Please explain to me just how you know this…do you now read the hearts and minds of millions of people?

Your Kidding right? I see repeated requests to concecrate everything but the kitchen sink to Mary’s Immaculate Heart.

The vision failed when predicting the date for the end of the war. God never fails.

I see nothing that makes me think this is Not Satans work.
Of course Satan would like nothing better than millions of people praying the prayer given at Fatima by Our Lady several times a day.

I can imagine Lucifer rejoicing every time we pray ‘O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven …’ Those are the very words of the apparition herself, kaycee. Extremely satanic :nope:

My entire house is consecrated to both the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, so even my kitchen sink is consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

But you know what? The only things you have to believe about Mary to be a Catholic are:
  • Mary is Jesus’ Mother
  • Mary remained a virgin before, during and after Jesus’ birth
  • All of Sacred Scripture in regards to Mary (present at the Wedding at Cana, at the Cross, at Pentecost, etc.)
  • That Mary was conceived without sin (the Immaculate Conception)
  • The Assumption of Mary (that Mary was taken up to Heaven, body and soul intact)
That’s it.

You don’t have to have any special devotion to Mary, you don’t have to pray the Rosary, you don’t have to consecrate anything, not even the kitchen sink to Her Immaculate Heart.

You Protestants have a “Mary hang-up” - as a matter of fact, I would dare say that you Protestants bring up Mary as much as Catholics with devout devotions to Our Lady. It’s a kind of fixation that I like to believe brings Protestants into the Church - the ones that eventually get over their negative feelings regarding that fixation, and see the positive in the Mother of God.

Reminds me of what Erasmus said to Martin Luther once, “Are you alone wise?” during a debate on personal revelation trumping Magesterial teaching. Luther is said to have been haunted by this question the rest of his life.

Which reminds me of something else, a very well-known Christian writer, about 500 years ago, who wrote:
“She, the lady above heaven and earth must have a heart so humble that she might have no shame in washing the swaddling clothes or preparing a bath for St. John the Baptist like a servant girl. What humility. It surely would have been more just to have arranged for her a golden coach pulled by 4000 horses and to cry and proclaim, as the carriage proceeded, here passes the woman who was raised above the whole human race. She was not filled by pride by this immense praise. No woman is like unto thee, thou art more than an empress or queen, blessed above all nobility or wisdom or saintliness.”

Another writing of this famous writer:
“May she enlighten our intelligences, inflame our hearts, and inspire our whole life. May Christ grant this grace through the intercession of his Holy Mother.”

The writer was a Catholic monk at one time. His name? Martin Luther.

This was not written when he was a monk but decades later not long before his death.

It didn’t mention the end of the war. You are just going by your own fallible assumption what the message of Fatima, which is just a private revelation.

The message from Fatima is not from Satan. How can Satan fight against himself?
Ahhh, what is the RCC infallible interpretation of Fatima?

Please explain to me just how you know this…do you now read the hearts and minds of millions of people?
Could you explain to me what Gospel the “vision” is preaching?

The Fatima message predicted the End of Communism for Russia because Pope John Paul II made a consecration to the whole World. This satify Mary, and in 1989, we saw the fall of Communism. In Russia, our Orthodox Christians are practicing their faith.
Satisfy Mary? How is that biblical in the slightest?

Kaycee-

Matthew 17:3
3Just then there appeared before them Moses and Elijah, talking with Jesus.

They weren’t just posing for group photos.
Offcourse, but there not talking to anyone else.
Hmmm…I wonder why the Father sent them, and what they were telling Jesus? Interesting messengers, eh?
You dont have to wonder. Luke 9:29 As he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became as bright as a flash of lightning. 30 Two men, Moses and Elijah, 31 appeared in glorious splendor, talking with Jesus. They spoke about his departure, which he was about to bring to fulfillment at Jerusalem

Thats good to know, now if only we didnt have to believe all the other Catholic only doctrines, I might consider “coming home”. 😉

Well our “hangup” exists only because scripture is so silent about Mary. Clearly the early church knew nothing of the Marian doctrines never mind having to believe in them for salvation. Biblically and historically there is no support.

Ahhh, what is the RCC infallible interpretation of Fatima?
The interpretation of Fatima and all other ‘approved’ apparitions that it is a private revelation - not required belief for any Catholic.

Which has been thoroughly investigated and declared ‘worthy of belief’, which simply means there is nothing in it that is THEOLOGICALLY or DOCTRINALLY offensive to Catholic faith.

And you still haven’t answered my question - if the apparition were from Satan why would he be telling us to pray the words ‘O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell, lead all souls to Heaven, especially those who most need Your mercy’ ?? 🤷

I also like to add that Fatima is what the Church called a private revelation and is not consider part of the Deposit of Faith.

Catechism of the Catholic Church states the following:
67 Throughout the ages, there have been so-called “private” revelations, some of which have been recognized by the authority of the Church. They do not belong, however, to the deposit of faith. It is not their role to improve or complete Christ’s definitive Revelation, but to help live more fully by it in a certain period of history. Guided by the Magisterium of the Church, the sensus fidelium knows how to discern and welcome in these revelations whatever constitutes an authentic call of Christ or his saints to the Church.
Christian faith cannot accept “revelations” that claim to surpass or correct the Revelation of which Christ is the fulfillment, as is the case in certain non-Christian religions and also in certain recent sects which base themselves on such “revelations”.
A Catholic is is free to believe or not to believe in the apparition at Fatima. It maybe approved, but is not consider part of the deposit of faith. I believe it is authentic and I find nothing in Fatima contrary to the Divine Revelations (The Coming of Messiah, Jesus Christ).

Throughout history, only few apparitions have been approved out of the hundreds. The Church carefully investigate these carefully.

Deception would hardly be very convincing without a little truth mixed in.

A little truth? We’re not talking a little truth here, kaycee, we’re talking words that embody the complete opposite of everything Satan stands for and wants from us! Satan would NEVER tell us to beg for salvation from Christ!

Remember the words of scripture - no-one can call Jesus Lord except through the Holy Spirit! So who else would have us call Jesus our saviour then?

And 95% of Catholics who have heard of Fatima would know nothing and do nothing about it BUT say that particular prayer.

I repeat, Satan would not do such a thing.

Before I can answer this, Is calling all sinners for repentence unbiblical?
👍 a good start.
Because that was the main message of Fatima.
Hmmm, dedicating everything to the immaculate heart of Mary must mean something very different to you.

It doesnt matter anyway, the RCC does not require belief in this for salvation.

My belief that this is Satanic deception should not cause you heart burn since I am free to believe whatever I want under church rules.

You left out one thing. Mary also said,

First Saturday.

reception of Holy Communion, and Confession. If you understand Catholic theology in the Holy Communion, we believe in the Real Presence of Jesus Christ.

Like I said before, when Mary ask for something from us, she never left out her son.

She also said,

“Sacrifice yourselves for sinners and say often whenever you make a sacrifice: ‘O Jesus, it is for love of You, for the conversion of sinners, and in reparation for the offenses committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.’ " (Our Lady—July 13, 1917).

It is apparent, that you did not include receiving Holy Communion, and from your post, it seem to me that it was only Mary that she demands from us.

If you read this rosary-center.org/consecrt.htm#jesus

Mary is pointing us to her Son.

You sure about that quote? Is the Mormon your brother?

The Holy Spirit lifts up Jesus, only.

Kaycee - it is obvious that you live so much in “mans world” and not the world where with God anything is possible.

How do you know the Holy Spirit lifts up Jesus only? Kaycee’s interpretation? The Blessed Mother was sent by her son Jesus for OUR sake. Of course the prayer would be offences committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Remember, she is sinless thus her heart is Immaculate. It was her apparition at Fatima.

You say “God would never say this” how do you know? Thats the problem with all these denominations - they are using human brains to decide what to believe and what not to. The Catholic Religion is the Church started by Christ Himself. Ours is a Religion so extraordinary that non catholics can’t comprehend without faith and serious study.

You have blocked yourself from understanding with a closed mindedness of a Protestant. We have 2000 years of tradition, private revelation and the scriptures.

Uh…yeah…that was kinda my point.

They weren’t just posing for pictures as I said previously. They were talking about substantive matters.

There’s no reason why saints (including Mary) cannot appear even now to bring messages from God.

Is it possible, kaycee? If an angel can speak to Mary at the annunciation and Moses and Elijah can appear to Jesus at the transfiguration, is it possible that God might still send someone to deliver a message from time to time?

Is there anything about an appearance of Mary that violates anything in the Bible?
