It is best to ignore this directive completely and go to jail if necessary. I see they are releasing hardened criminals from jail, so the politicians should have plenty of room to jail decent Christians as they did in the early church.

My understanding is that in our archdiocese and at our local Catholic church, communion is going to be given AFTER Mass. I’m not sure how they are doing that but that is the policy at our local church.

The headline at least is disappointing, more so because when there was intolerance and restrictions on legal rights of Catholics, Maryland stood apart.

From the executive order…
There shall be no consumption of food or beverage of any kind before, during, or after
religious services, including food or beverage that would typically be consumed as part of
a religious service.

I believe this would preclude any Eucharist.

Well, there is this…

“As we move toward the May 30-31 date when some parishes will be allowed to open for public Masses, please keep in mind that this is only possible:
If your local jurisdiction is allowing religious services (for more than 10 people),“

Our parish will not be open…

Yes, there was another thread on this with the news story that the ban was already lifted. It was a very clear constitutional violation so it’s not surprising it was lifted.

I know HoCo very well, lived there for years before moving to one of the neighboring counties.
I think this occurred because the exec is quite young, relatively new at his job, and made a blunder. He has made previous blunders as well.
