If Jesus was born of a virgin, why are the ancestors of his step parent (Joseph), glorified throughout the Bible when the lineage of his Mother is totally ignored?

What about Mary’s lineage?

The family lineage was traced, in those days, through the male. Often records weren’t even kept for women. We know that her parents were called Joachim and Anne, but that is about it.
While Joseph wasn’t His father, he was his step father, and Jesus would have legally been considered, I believe, part of the family and his lineage traceable by Joseph’s. So, it wouldn’t make much difference as to His genetic ancestry with Mary.

Thank you.

I still don’t understand why WOuld you trace a step parent to discover your ancestry?

That’s not the point of the geneaology.

The Messiah was to be of the House of David. Legally, Jesus is of the house of David because Joseph is of the house of David.

The geneaology is making it clear that Jesus is the Messiah.
