I’m incredibly conflicted at the moment. At a time when I need to be attending church the most I haven’t been. It isn’t that I don’t want to, but several things have contributed to my Sundays being spent cleaning. I am not Catholic, however I was attending RCIA classes four years ago and had to stop due to work. I still feel drawn to the strength and stability and would like to return. But here comes the speed bump…ok brick wall.
My husband is deployed overseas and I have a 4 month old strictly breastfed baby and a 3 year old diagnosed with early onset bipolar disorder, which means she has violent mood swings and the attention span of a goldfish.
I have little to no family support and quite frankly nobody else would be willing to help. Im on my own.
Should I just give up on the idea of church? The Catholic church by me doesn’t have any form of child care, which is fine since its hard for me to leave my 3 year old with others due to her condition, but I don’t believe they have a cry room…which also sometimes contains other children who are misbehaving for parental reasons and can quickly contribute to a full 2 hour meltdown for my child.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I have no friends who attend church of any faith, so enlisting someone to go with me is out of the question.
