I got to mass today and it was sublime. Fr. C is so reverent it is almost impossible to forget the gravity of what is going on.
But I have an absolute thumper of a headache, and was really struggling with it. Have just been getting to grips with being tuned in to the mass and found it really difficult due to the headache. Then it suddenly occured to me to offer up the headache for the sake of the poor souls, and a few minutes later the headache lifted, just in time for the consecration. It returned at the end, and I still have it, and am continually offering it, but feel that I had a real blessing at mass, not only relief from pain, but also being able to have a moment to appreciate the real presence of Christ.
