Mass as a Requirement, necessarily on Sunday?

It is my understanding that Catholics are obligated to attend Sunday Mass.

For clarification, does this mean that if a person attends Mass on another day during the week, that it is nonetheless a sin if Sunday Mass is not attended, or is it that what is a sin is if no Mass is attended during the week?

It is a sin to miss Sunday Mass (assuming one had the ability to attend), regardless of one’s weekday attendance.

The requirement is to attend Mass on Sunday (or Saturday evening, usually held 5 p.m.), plus a handful of Holy Days of Obligation, if at all possible.

Illness and emergency suspend the requirement.

The answers above are right. The requirement is not “attend one Mass per week,” but “attend Mass on Sunday.” (Saturday evening is considered to be included as part of Sunday.)
