Thanks for posting. Sometimes the fact it is a Sacrifice can be forgotten…
 
A worryingly high number of Catholics think the Mass is no more than a memorial with symbolic meaning
 
the whole talk is excellent. I was especially interested in his coverage of the various points of the Mass, especially the double consecration (separate = death of Christ). It is very good. Have bookmarked the link - thank you again.
 
There is a Lenten book published in the Dio of Saginaw known as “the little black book”

I was never very interested in these books from year to year. But, now only did I pick one up at church, I’ve been reading it for a bit.

the book makes the point that “sacrifice” refers to making something holy. It is not about deprivation, hardship, or discomfort.

The sacrifice we make in lent is to take away something that stands in the way of our relationship with God.

OK, I didn’t watch the video (above) but I wanted to share this bit of info.
