Has anyone started a thread on this yet? If so, I couldn’t find it.

Anyone else watching right now?
 
They are getting ready for Liturgy of the Eucharist now.

Have it on local tv channel.

This has nothing to do with the mass itself, but this is just amazing. I’m watching it on MSNBC. Over the Offertory procession, the network commentators are discussing transubstantiation and John 6.

There are a few times that I want Cable. Not enough to pay for it but this is one. But I am glad I was home and able to get it on line. Technology certainly can be used for the good.

WOW I admit they look a little confuse with communion (I just mean where to go. I wish I could be there. Wow our Holy Father must be so tired. I saw them helping him back to his chair.
 
Yay! FoxNews is extolling the virtues of Latin, and commenting on the numbers of youth participating in the Latin parts of this Mass.
 
In the Procession I spotted a couple of the Franciscan friars I knew from Youth 2000 in the early 90s!! 🙂

I loved the music today. I guess this has been my favorite of the 3 masses so far, although I don’t know how fair of a contest that is. Anyone else sad that the Holy Father willl be leaving tonight? It’s been comforting, having him here all week.
 
I missed that. I took an unplanned nap BUT I woke up for the readings on. I know a couple friars. (I was trying to think of who I might know)

How is violating centuries of tradition, sacramental reverence, communion line efficiency, and the universal norm of the Church by taking communion by the hand in any sense “VERY good” ?? :confused: Please explain.

Sure, Benedict may have allowed it (the US has the indult, after all), but I suspect that he personally does not like it.

I’m watching it on CNN at the moment. It certainly was a very good Mass. The music was well chosen. 🙂 I especially appreciated the Panis Angelicus, and it looked as if the Pope did as well.

It shows that HE stands by the Church in holding BOTH methods as acceptable - and since you don’t read minds (and the line could have been instructed to not receive in the hand IF he did not want to do that) your guess is less than meaningful.

Well of course he allows it – the US has the indult (as I said). But don’t be surprised if the indult is finally rescinded some day.

And you didn’t answer how it’s “VERY good”.

Upholding the Church’s decision that BOTH is acceptable BY PERSONAL EXAMPLE (unlike what he has done with the TLM) is not an answer to your question about ‘VERY good’??

This was a magnificent Mass! It truly reflected the Pope’s liturgical vision; it was sacred, beautiful, and reverent. Truly an exemplary liturgy; I hope it infleunces many Masses around the world.
