I work in a hospital I have noticed Catholic’s often receive cards which state that a Mass is being offered for them.

Do Parishes do these, or is it only in various fraternities etc? I just thought I would like to give something similar to my parents when I get Masses offered for their parents/siblings.

You can get them from a parish, or you can get them from different societies of priests.

I prefer to get them from missionary societies, because my donation is used for their mission work. I have done both, though.

You ask for a Mass or a novena of Masses to be offered for a person’s intention and you get a card to give to them to let them know that a Mass will be said for them. Generally an almsgiving offering of $5 or more is what is accepted for the Mass, but not required. It’s traditional to give something, though.

Here are some sites for societies that will offer Masses for your intention:

Seraphic Mass Association

Societas Verbo Domini (Mission Mass League)

Priests of the Sacred Heart

Trinitarians

As you know, the Mass is the perfect prayer, so it is immensely powerful. It’s a very beautiful gift for anyone to have one offered.
