I was watching this video:
youtube.com/watch?v=DwCaZaSon9A&feature=youtu.be

This 1 hour video cleverly explains how we were made from consciousness, there was a war on mars, Atlantis was our first home, etc.

As SILLY and BACKWARDS this sounds, and how no one put a fool would believe it, this video somehow makes it clear about our existence and how our world came to be.

I am asking how would a Catholic respond to this, since I am having some difficulty actually trying to put my head around it.

I don’t really think many people would be willing to watch the whole video, as it is 1 hour, but if someone can view maybe the first 10-20 minutes of it and see if their are any holes or misconceptions I didn’t catch, could you please explain them?

Some points about the video is that ancient scholars knew about distant planets and that our earth is round…they also knew about other planets and all sorts of stuff…
The idea that explains this is Mass Consciousness. I know something you know, without you ever telling me…

The video points out a study.

In Australia, a group presented a picture with 7 big faces, with millions of faces in those 7 faces. The Australians could only point out 7 faces, total… The group flew to the UK, and broadcasted a TV show exclusive to London only. While in London, they showed them about the faces and how their are millions in there… When the group flew back to Australia to do it again, the Australians figured out that there were millions of faces in them.

This is just 1 example. How would Catholic teaching respond to this?
The video does mention the Hebrews, or Jews, but they don’t really cover God. So that may be another problem.

If this is anyway breaks the Catholic Answer Forum rules, go ahead and delete the post. No problem.

I would like to get this clear, I am in no way questioning Catholic doctrine or Christianity, or even Christ. I would just like some responses from Catholic theologians.

Thank you.

I listened to 3 of 4 minutes of it…they have NO basis for what they’re saying. It’s all assumptions.

The early people could figure out the world was round and othe planets might be other worlds and not stars, by using thier eyes and brains. 😃

Most sailors in the ancient world recognized that the world was round, as sailors can see that the mast of a ship is the last part to disappear over the horizon.

With few exceptions, I don’t put much stock on YouTube videos. I would look at the poster’s other postings and see if you could get a feel for his/her grip on reality.

It’s good you’re not questioning your faith, but I would advise putting much stock into this video until your own faith is strong enough to rebut it.

I watched the first couple minutes of the video. It begins with bad archaeology and science and quickly descends into fantasy. By the 2 minute mark, it’s not worth watching any more.

This video follows a sad trend in occult and conspiracy material, where the person states wild conjecture and fantasy as absolute fact, never showing their face and never using their real name. Nothing is ever substantiated, and no sources are ever cited.

If they can’t give you their name, cite their sources, and use accepted science and archaeology to discuss their points, they are wasting your time and possibly taking advantage of you.

The animation is cute, but that doesn’t make up for the rest.
