“The world could exist more easily without the sun than without the Mass” (Padre Pio)
If Mass was only celebrated on Sundays throughout the world, that would mean during the week the world would be without the Mass.
Can you imagine the sun rising only one day a week?

Doesn’t the bible say something like they devoted themselves to the communal life, prayers, and the breaking of the bread? I thought this was implied or directly said to be daily. (I don’t have time to look up the vese right now - I think it is in Acts). We are following the example of the early church.

Also, Malachi 1:11 is a prophesy that is fulfilled in our Mass. ‘From the rising of the sun to its setting…’ - every day, at every hour, somewhere in the world a Mass is going on from my understanding.

From another perspective I would ask…why would a church NOT want to allow for the formal worship of God everyday if He is to be the priority in our life? Shouldn’t the church set the example?

Really why not. why would you not want to visit with God and the Church family everyday. I love to go when I can even though I still can’t figure out some of the mumbling that goes on and only some of those present do the mumbling. It does not seem to be in my missal. I also taken to stopping by Church on the way home from work for adoration and prayer. Yesterday I stopped by and I was the only person there (ah the Peace and Joy), I stayed there until some other people came as I didn’t want Christ left alone. That was my promise.

I used to try to go every day but now it’s impossible for me because I have to be at work for 0545. So that doesn’t work out.

Malachi 1:11
11 My name will be great among the nations, from the rising to the setting of the sun. In every place incense and pure sacrifice will be offered to my name, because my name will be great among the nations," says the LORD Almighty.
The Pure Sacrifice of the Mass is offered in every nation from the rising of the Sun until it’s setting (with incense even), just as God foretold to Malachi.

I began going when a great test came into my life. I was driving home from dropping my stepson off at camp. With fear and tears in my eyes, I remembered there was a morning Mass at my Church. I arrived and found my usual Sunday pew. I have found the daily Mass a great source of comfort in this troubling time. I cannot imagine not going to daily Mass.

Hmmm… This brings to mind a conversation I had years ago with a friend. He was a very devout Protestant and active in the Pro-Life movement, as was I. After I saw him receive communion at a Pro-Life Mass, however, I realized I needed to have a little chat with him about what Catholics believe and why you need to be Catholic to receive. After I’d gone through the whole explanation of why we believe the Eucharist to truly be the Body and Blood of Christ, (but without any mention at all of Daily Mass) he paused for a second, and said, "Wow. ** I guess if I really believed that, I’d want to go every day."** So there you go. 🙂
Reminds me of a Protestant minister who once said “if you Catholics ACTUALLY believed in the Real Presence, you’d be there on your knees every single day of your life!”

His disbelief notwithstanding, his point was valid…

That’s what I was thinking! We only have one–he’d pass out from exhaustion by Sunday!

Rayne–That’s wonderful!!

We have 4 priests -I believe 2 of the 4 priests are "retired"priests. We often have visiting priests as well.
