And on a side note:
There are eight churches on Antarctica proper, with another two located south of the Antarctic Convergence. The southernmost of these religious buildings is the Chapel of Our Lady of the Snows, a Catholic chapel carved out of the ice surrounding the Belgrano II Base, at Bertrab Nunatak.
There are four Catholic Churches in Antarctica proper:
The Chapel of Our Lady of the Snows located in Belgrano II Base, Bertrab Nunatak
The St. Francis of Assisi (San Francisco de Asis) Chapel located in Esperanza Base, Hope Bay
The Chapel of the Blessed Virgin of Lujan (Santisima Virgen de Lujan) located at the Marambio Base, Marambio Island
The Chapel of Saint Mary, Queen of Peace (Santa María Reina de la Paz) located in Villa Las Estrellas, King George Island
Then this Catholic Church which is in the Antarctic region, but not in Antarctica proper:
The Church of Our Lady of the Winds (Notre-Dame des Vents) which is located in Port-aux-Français, Kerguelen Islands
Finally, there’s also a Norwegian Lutheran church outside of Antarctica proper. And on Antarctica proper there’s also two Russian Orthodox Churches, one Ukrainian Orthodox Church, and one non-denominational Protestant church, for a total of 8 Churches on Antarctica itself (4 Catholic, 3 Orthodox, 1 Protestant), and 2 Churches around Antarctica (1 Catholic, and 1 Protestant), for a total of 10 Christian Churches in the Antarctic region.
Here’s a picture of the St. Mary Queen of Peace (Santa María Reina de la Paz) Chapel on King George Island:

And of course right now where I am in New England, it feels like Antarctica: 14 degrees BELOW zero Fahrenheit is the feels-like temp outside!
God bless and Happy New Year to all!
