Mass in German

[critterbug]

A family member is currently in Austria, went to Sunday Mass today, and was frustrated by not being able to participate. There were no missalettes of any kind available to allow her to follow along with the Mass. Is there any place on line where she can get the common Mass responses, prayers, etc. for her use while in that country? Thanks!

This page is in German, but if you scroll down to the heading that says “Stücke der deutschen Messe” (Parts/pieces of the German mass), you’ll see the order of the service. In turn, each of these is hyperlinked, and you can go to each section and read (and then print out) each bit, the responses, etc.

If someone else knows a better source, I’d love to hear it, since I have never attended a German mass myself, though I’ve lived overseas in Germany and Switzerland (this was way before I converted).

I don’t know about Austria, but most parishes I’ve been to in Germany have in the back a rack of hardbound missals (“Gotteslob”) which contain the order of Mass, the readings, and the hymns.
