I’m studying Japanese language in college, and when I was in Japan, studying over the summer, I found that attending Mass in Japanese helped me learn some new grammar and vocabulary, and opened up to me a world of prayer that felt very raw, and very reflective. Praying in Japanese has totally effected the way I regularly pray, and I want to further explore this by attending Mass in Japanese if I can. Problem is, I live in the eastern U.S., and Mass here is either in English, Spanish, or Latin (EF). I know that there’s a small Japanese community not far from where I live, and an even larger one about 2 or 3 hours away, but I have trouble finding Japanese language Masses (if they exist at all around here) via uncle google. Even if it were hours away from me, I’m willing to make the drive occasionally, even if it’s not a regular thing or something I do on road trips. I found one parish in California, but that was all.
Is there a way I can more easily find multi-lingual parishes to find what I’m looking for, or does anyone know of an eastern US parish that offers Mass in Japanese?
