I found this horrible. We had Mass yesterday, as is was a Holy Day and I go to a Catholic school.

I found out today, that some of the upperclassmen went to take the Eucharist more then once, putting the Host in their pockets and seeing how many they could get. One Senior took a host and drew a smily on it with sharpie! (He was suspended)

I can’t believe this, that these people have no respect for Our Lord!

one day, it will give the student cause for a lot of soul searching…
best thing to do is pray for someone that lost… 😦

lol…

That is more than wrong… We need to pray for their souls. How did they kids get in your school? Do you know what their parents think of it?

I was about to say, mind your own business, these guys are not your responsibility, but by the time I got to the end of your story I was nearly in tears, since you say this is a Catholic school. Can you summon the courage to go out on a limb and tell the parish priest about this? Make sure this is your own knowledge, not hearsay or gossip. Beg him to come and speak to you all about the Eucharist, the Real Presence, and the worship and reverence due to the Blessed Sacrament. Explain to him exactly how shocked and grieved you were. We are praying for you, and glad that you are in that school to be a light for others.

This would seem to be a pastoral situation in which the priest should restrict communion to communion on the tongue.

It sounds like something is seriously lacking in the Religion Classes It has been remarked of other Catholic Schools - If only they put as much emphasis on religion as they do on football.

:crying: Acts 20:11 “When Paul had gone up and had broken bread and eaten…” St. Paul explained clearly what “breaking bread” meant. 1 Cor 10:16 “The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not a participation in the Blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not a participation in the Body of Christ?” St. Paul continued, 1 Cor 11:27 “Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the Body and Blood of the Lord.”

Suggestion:

Adoration:blessyou:

You should bring up the fact that this type of behavior, whether realized or not by the offender, is an act of satanism. Desecration of the Holy Eucharist is seen as honorable by the followers of the devil, it is encouraged & thought to bring about the power of darkness.

That senior should be exspelled & excommunicated.

I would think so! Don’t they have a responsibility to ensure, within their power, that the host is not desecrated or abused?

Yes, absolutely. And, in addition, I think I’d be tanning some hides… oh, but wait, the ACLU would slap a lawsuit on me…

What Pro-life teen says is a perfect example of students being led around by sinful rolemodels. Given that our culture teaches violence, paganism it’s no wonder that our society has the problems it does. Some of these students might not be aware that they are in mortal sin. A lot of it is poor example and poor teaching. Our society loves to downplay sin. Our society says we shouldn’t talk about sin, because these so and so people are good people and don’t like hearing about sin. Bolongi! There’s no way that you can talk about sin without talking about God’s mercy and redemption. Come on priests be a pastor! Come on bishops be a shepard! Fathers be a man!
Do your job!!!
We haven’t seen the worst of it, its gonna get worst before it gets better. Our era of prosperity has caused us to forget about God. It all starts with bringing Jesus Christ back into our homes. Let’s bring God back into our public schools. Let’s bring God back into our court rooms. Let’s bring God back into politics. Let us hope that our nation returns to God and soon or we will perish like Sodom and Gammorrah did only much much worse than that. Our nation will be humbled and brought down with a crashing thud if sleepy Catholics don’t wake up and smell the coffee.

Padre Pio “Don’t worry, work and pray.”

Aren’t priests supposed to watch communicants consume the Blessed Sacrament before they leave the line? Does your school just have a bunch of extraordinary ministers that aren’t trained? I will be praying for you and your class mates.

God Bless you for loving the Lord so much! If the offenders were suspended the principal must know about the incident. Maybe this will be a wake up call for the administration and teachers in your school. Never stop praying and sacrificing. —KCT

Obviously I know nothing about the offenders, but given the lack of proper catechesis these days, I would suspect the kid had no idea how serious the matter really is. —KCT

Sounds like time for the Divine Mercy Chaplet.

My Jesus have mercy on us all. :gopray:

Not all of the students in a Catholic school are necessarily Catholic. Therefore, distrbution of the Eucharist requires explanation to incoming non-Catholics.
Catechesis in Catholic schools (elementary and secondary) is, in some places, non-existent. Therefore, distribution of the Eucharist at a Catholic school requires due diligence and some security measures.
There is no excuse for a principal of a Catholic high school to allow such laxity at a Mass. And, if the priest is the campus minister, he should be doubly careful.
Just because parents spend thousands of dollars to send their children to Catholic schools, there is no guarantee that those children will get a Catholic education. This is a sad, but true, fact.
A child’s parents are still the primary teachers of the faith. Make sure your children are educated and keep an eye on what they are learning in school!
Parents, being consumers, have tremendous clout. Use it!
If you choose one Catholic school over another, or others, because of the quality of the religious education, let the losing bidders know why your child is not attending that institution. You’d be amazed at how quickly they can change for the better.
Been there.
Take heart. The colleges are MUCH worse!

Wow! Getting a little harsh aren’t we? That’s an awfully huge punishment. I think suspension is even a little too harsh. What’s worse, getting drawn on or getting digested by stomich acid?
