Mass Intention for Non Catholic

Can a mass intention be for a non catholic? I have a cousin who was paralyzed in a car accident and the one year anniversary is coming up and I would like to have a mass said in her honor for that day. Any information would be helpful…thank you

Yes. A mass can be said for a non-Catholic, living or deceased.

Make sure you indicate whether the mass intention is for a living person or someone who is deceased.

Yes. In fact, I was very close to my former employer, a state representative from Fort Worth who died. He was not Catholic, but, he made allowances for me to go to Mass (when the House sessions dragged late into the night). Sometimes, he went with me (I was his ride so he had no choice ). He was a good man. When he died, I had Masses offered up for the repose of his soul.

This may be a bit nit-picky, but that might be better expressed as for her intentions. I think any mass should always be in honor of God.
