If a Mass is offered for a particular person, can that “cover” all people who have the same name? Next Sunday’s Mass Intention will be for someone with the same name as my favorite author.
Any chance that it is your author for whom Mass is being offered? If a Mass is offered for a particular person, can that “cover” all people who have the same name? Next Sunday’s Mass Intention will be for someone with the same name as my favorite author.![]()
That is correct… except for the prayers of the faithful, where all present are allowed to offer their own intentions “held in the silence of [their] hearts”.So the Mass Intention is restricted to the person for whom its offered, regardless of how many people share the same name; is this correct?
Nah…its the same last name as someone within the parish, so I imagine that its her father or brother.Any chance that it is your author for whom Mass is being offered?
How does one do this? Is there a prayer that you say in order to do this or do you just intend to do it in your mind? But you can always “offer” your own participation in the mass/reception of communion for your own intention, even if the priest is offering it for another.
Either is fine. How does one do this? Is there a prayer that you say in order to do this or do you just intend to do it in your mind?
